As individuals age, their hearing capabilities tend to decline. Young people up to 20 years old typically have good hearing, with some being able to hear frequencies of up to approximately 18 kHz. In contrast, a 90-year-old may only be able to hear around 5 kHz. Those in the 30 to 40-year-old range should ideally be able to hear up to 14,000 Hz. Exposure to loud music or noise can negatively impact this range. Assess your hearing sensitivity to better understand its aging process. You can adjust the frequency level from 1,000 Hz to 18,000 Hz through this tool.
